YES! We’re going to Gratifly Music and Arts Festival this year! This was an experience I wanted to be a part of last year, but couldn’t make it work, and sent our brave reviewer Sally to cover it for us. Sparkleberry Lane is super stoked to be supporting this event because they are promoting a conscious, uplifting, community-building festival experience right here on the East Coast. While “transformational” festivals- festivals which incorporate interesting workshops, classes, and talks along with the musical experience- are all over the West Coast, we have yet to have very many here on the right. Gratifly is filling in this gap in a major way.

Exploring their website got me amped up for this year’s event.  Besides music stages, Gratifly will feature a House of Creation, a Movement Mecca, Land of Emergence, and a Temple of the Sacred. With all the things available at this year’s event- between the music, movement classes, explorational lectures, experiential workshops, high vibe ceremonies, and just plain chillin’ on these beautiful festival grounds, festival goers are going to be getting way more than their money’s worth this weekend.

As a preview (and to help me mentally prepare) I’ll list some of the stuff I’m personally planning to do:1506030_463535643751886_289722176_n I plan on being a part of each day’s ceremonial space, which focus on a different theme for each day of the festival. Ceremony is a powerful way to connect with souls who will uplift your vibration, and it’s fantastic that Gratifly is making sacred ceremony (coming together with positive intention and holding space for a light to flow through this dimension) a part of this year’s event. We’ve been hearing a lot about invoking and honoring the Divine Feminine in these times, but I love that Gratifly is also devoting a day to the Divine Masculine! I also look forward to joining my voice in Kirtan at the Yoga stage, and Sound Healing ceremonies in the Temple of the Sacred. 1098094_394234614015323_1613096002_nI’ll be at panel discussions on a variety of important and highly relevant topics, such as “Growth Edges of Indigenous Spirituality in a Modern World,” and “YOU are the Medicine: Evolving Beyond Entheogens and Substances.” I will learn about activated foods with Tai Magik (when was the last time you brought your festival experience into the kitchen?!), and learn how I, and Sparkleberry Lane, can be part of a Regenerative Economy with Joyous Presence. The Temple of the Sacred will be filled with a variety of presentations on ways to step into our divine birthright of power, presence, and positive influence, and instead of planning who to see, I look forward to seeing where I’m guided to listen and absorb. 1001203_392949397477178_839159706_n

I can’t wait to stretch my dancing limbs with yoga classes in the Movement Mecca, but I’m equally stoked to bust out my dusty hula hoops for some flow workshops, especially with Baxter of HoopPath! I have left festivals physically exhausted and worn out more times than I have left them energized. Yoga and movement classes are an important component to making the festival experience physically empowering! (as are proper nutrition, hydration, and REST!) And, OH YEAH THERE’S MUSIC TOO! So I will definitely be getting down to the always eclectic vibes of The Polish Ambassador (his latest album is fantastic), and jamming out to Papadosio, but I definitely won’t be missing William Close and the remarkable Earth Harp.

Opiou, Random Rab, Desert Dwellers, Plantrae, The Human Experience, Pumpkin, and Mihkal- WAIT we aren’t even in California! I’ve heard amazing things about Rising Appalachia, and I can’t wait to hear the hip-hop mantra infusions of Srikalogy in person. (This is a guy I stumbled across on SoundCloud while looking for interesting music to play in my yoga classes). And of course, I look forward to discovering a plethora of musical geniuses I have yet to know about- all who will surely be continually elevating the Gratifly Village’s vibrations with their sounds.

At this point in my life, I’m not surrounded by like-minded, high-vibing individuals on a daily basis, so I count on a gathering like this to charge me up. What the Gratifly team has put together is important beyond just the 3.5 days we will be together in the fields and woods of Avalon, South Carolina. Its impact, and the impact of gatherings like it, will slowly but surely ripple across our entire globe. Of course, what each of us attendees get out of it is what we chose to put in. What the team has planned is 10% of the experience- the contribution of our positive intentions and lucid presence is the other 90%. I’m planning on going with my heart open and my head clear, to connect with those around me and look for ways to contribute. I want to bring something home with me to continue to ripple its effect out into the world. Join me! Consider it an investment in your evolution!
